The Add/Drop period for scheduling for the school year will be closed on Friday September 11.

Foster Technology Center (FTC) is located adjacent to Mt.Blue High School in Farmington. FTC is a regional career and technical center welcoming and serving students from Jay, Livermore Falls, Mt.Abram and RLRS as well as Mt. Blue. FTC has its own administration, student services, and teaching staff. The Center offers a wide variety of programs to all students.

Programs meet every other day for a year. Specific information about the schedule is available from your Student Services Office.

RLRS provides transportation to and from FTC.

Career and techical programs have areas that align with the Maine Learning Results in addition to the specific technical training. Some technical programs are articulated to a post-secondary school. This means that a student achieving a high level of skills and competencies may receive college credit. All of our programs offer service learning opportunities.

Students interested in programs at FTC are encouraged to visit the website www.msad9.org, visit the programs, and speak with the instructor or students that are currently at the center.

The student services office at RLRS has all the information needed to apply or learn more about this great educational opportunity.

The Foster Tech program is off to a great start. I will be updating the web page with more info later.

Work Experience is an educational opportunity for students to tie an aspiration to a work placement here in the community. These students leave school to work and receive school credit. Placement and paperwork for Work Experience students is being completed and finalized next week.

Student Aide offers high school students interested in specific subjects, or age groups to work in these area of interest throughout the year for school credit.  12 students are participating in Student Aide and assigned to a teacher or classroom this year. These students must have aspirations that are tied to their placement.
